1) To date, how have you used the money your division received for K-8 teachers' LwICT professional learning in 2008-09 and 2009-10?
  • Money has been used for release time for teachers to attend pd, sub costs, travel costs...

2) What professional learning is occurring now because of the extra funding that you previously were not able to do?
  • on site pd and collaboration between teachers
  • are able to send teachers to larger ICT conferences such as Riding the Wave, BYTE

3) Does your division have any strategies for ongoing professional learning (For example: Professional Learning Community - online, face-to-face, mentors, etc?)

  • face to face workshop with ICT coordinator
  • tech buddies
  • exploring ICT in the middle years- sharing, collaborating...

4) What successful strategies would you like to recommend to other divisions?

  • in-school pd instead of after school pd

Transition to Senior Years

11) Thoughts on Literacy with ICT transition to the Senior Years
  • We will start educating senior years teachers this year about LwICT. We will concentrate on the affective domain.

12 )Ongoing support for K-8 teachers
  • PD for K-8 will continue. Mentoring will continue.
